Who doesn’t love uncrustables? Every person in this house does, especially my toddler. He absolutely hammers them, and they aren’t cheap. After coming across a sandwich sealer on Amazon I decided to see if I could make uncrustables myself for less money. To no reader of this blog’s surprise, I can!
I used:
- 1 loaf white bread (Aldi – $0.89)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (Aldi – $0.33)
- 1/2 cup grape jelly (Aldi – $0.20)
- Sandwich bags (Aldi – $0.20)
- Sandwich Sealer (Amazon – link below)
- Icing bags (Amazon – link below)
The sandwich sealer I bought is unfortunately out of stock on Amazon at this time. As soon as its back in stock I will share the link in this post and on Facebook.
By no means do you have to use icing bags for your peanut butter and jelly. I just happened to have some and figured I would give it a try. I’m glad I did because it made the process SO much easier! If you would like to get a box I will leave the link below.
I ended up making 10 uncrustables for $1.62. That would have cost me $6.48 at Walmart. Don’t get me wrong; they’re delicious and they’re convenient. As many as we’re going through though, I’m going to make them myself and save $4.86 per box. It’s going to add up!
