Do you know what I love? Beer butt chicken. You know what I don’t love? Getting out the roasting pan, removing a shelf from the oven, and physically inserting a can of beer into a chicken’s butt. It’s a whole deal. You can get the same taste and tenderness using your Instant Pot, Cornish hens, a can of beer, seasoning, and an air fryer.
What You’ll Need:
- 2-4 Cornish hens
- 1 can of beer
- Seasoning of choice (I use salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion power, and paprika)
Directions
- Pour full can of beer into Instant Pot. Sprinkle seasonings on top. Go wild. Season until the Lord tells your to stop.
- Place trivet into pot. Place Cornish hens on top of trivet. Depending on how big your Instant Pot is will determine how many hens to can make. I was able to get three in my six quart pot.
- Sprinkle more seasoning on top of hens. Sprinkle your heart out.
- Cook 3 hens on high pressure for 30 minutes. Cook 2 hens for 25 minutes. Cook 4 hens for 35 minutes. It hens are frozen cook for 1 hour.
- Release pressure and place into air fryer at 400 degrees for 5-10 minutes to get the skin good and crispy. You can also use your oven to do this.
